Six thousand new homes on Vic defence land

Thousands of new homes will be built on former defence land in Melbourne that the federal government has released for general sale.
The federal government predicts 6000 homes can be built on 128 hectares of former defence land where the old Maribyrnong munitions factory operated during World War I.

‘It’s a very prominent site in suburban Melbourne,’ Defence Minister Marise Payne told reporters on Sunday.
The 127 hectare former defence site was initially announced in the budget, along with other measures to tackle the housing affordability crisis, including abolishing capital gains tax exemptions for foreign investors.

While we want to grow our population to 4illion plsve in the next two decades it will ultimately be irrelevant what we do because it will not be Australia with the current rules – another country will make the rules.

When are the people who are supposed to be ruling Australia effeciently going to start caring about the people. How is abolishing Capital Gains Tax for overseas investors going to help Australians and our economy. It really makes me wonder who the politicians are actually looking after. Just wrong and they should be ashamed of themselves.

The houses should be built, and affordable for Australians- not foreign investors and not for immigrants who are on welfare.
It’s about time the Australian Government started caring for Australians. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
